McKenzie Feldman Staff Writer It is finally that time of year when summer break is just around the corner. Summer is a time to have fun and ditch all the stress of school. However, it is hard to keep summer fun cheap. Having a great summer vacation does not have to cost a fortune. There are many fun things you can do without having to travel and pay a lot of money. Whether you do not have any big vacation plans or you just want to have a memorable summer, here are some tips on keeping yourself busy or having your summer’s worth of fun. Start your summer by making a summer bucket list or all the things you hope to do by the time school rolls back around. These activities could include anything from cooking a full-course meal to having a water fight or even being a vegetarian for a week. There are many websites and blogs that have come up with plenty of ideas if you are looking for some inspiration.
Many teenagers feel like they need to travel to a certain tropical destination, but how about being a tourist in your own town? Treat this as if your family and friends were coming to visit. Where would you take them to experience the sights of the town? Find the history of your town, go on a picnic, look in storefront shops, or go to different museums and parks. While hunting around your town, find a fun attraction. Finish the day off with dinner at your favorite restaurant. Bring friends with you to make the day more memorable. You can enjoy the adventure even more with some friendly laughs here and there. If you cannot think of anything to do around your town, visit websites such as TripAdvisor or Yelp. These websites contain numerous things that you might not have even known existed in your own town. Friends can really make the difference between a boring and an awesome summer. For all you drivers out there, take a road trip to the beach. You can split the cost of gas and snacks and do it all while being under the summer sun. Also, just invite a ton of friends over for a sleepover. Have a game night, or binge watch your favorite movies. Sometimes the best memories are just made from the simplest of things. Finally, keep yourself busy over summer by getting a job. This way you can have the money to do what you want, when you want to. Go to storefronts and ask for an application. Also remember to just relax. The last thing you want to do is make your summer a stress case. Balance your week with fun activities and times of relaxation. Achieving the best summer ever is only a fingertip away. There is so much to love about this time of year, so make sure to make it memorable. Happy summer; see you in September! Comments are closed.
