Grace Fendrick Features and Web Editor The Hour of Code™ is a global movement taking place this year from Dec. 7 through Dec. 13, which is Computer Education Week. The Hour of Code’s main message is to provide lots of people with access to computer programming and to help teach it in fun innovative ways. With over 192,000 events worldwide and countless personal interactions, the movement is making a monumental difference. Big names in the IT community publicly support this campaign, including Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg. At Apex High School there is a great computer science program through the Academy of Information Technology (AOIT), but there are many students who do not get the opportunity to be a part of it. The Hour of Code also hopes to reach a younger age range, shown with games involving Anna and Elsa, and so much more. Tell your friends and family to try it, and try it for yourself here.
