The 74th Golden Globes nominations were announced on Monday and it is a great list with talented actors and actresses. To start off with best drama motion picture is Hacksaw Ridge with three nominations, one of which is for Andrew Garfield’s role as Desmond Doss who was a World War II medic. He served in the battle of Okinawa and refused to kill people. Desmond Doss was the first American to receive the Medal of Honor without firing a shot. Mel Gibson was also nominated for directing this film.  The other four films that were nominated are Hell or High Water, nominated for three Golden Globes; Lion, nominated for four Golden Globes; Manchester by the Sea, nominated for five Golden Globes; and Moonlight, nominated for six Golden Globes.

For best TV series Drama, we have Game of Thrones which is about nine noble families who fight for control over the Iron Throne and takes place in the mythical lands of Westeros. This was nominated for two Golden Globes. The TV show called The Crown is about the early reign of Queen Elizabeth II. This is nominated for three Golden Globes. The TV show Stranger Things is about a young boy who disappears; the people who try to find the boy are confronted by evil forces. This was nominated two Golden Globes. The TV show This is Us, is about different people whose stories intertwine in curious ways. This was nominated three Golden Globes. Lastly the TV show Westworld is about an amusement park that is looked after by robotic people and allows its visitors to live out their fantasies through artificial consciousness. This was nominated three Golden Globes. The main actress, Even Rachel Wood, who was nominated for her role in Westworld was born here in Raleigh, North Carolina. She also performed at Theatre in The Park in Raleigh.
These are the lists for best Drama TV show; I think Westworld or Stranger Things is going to win. For best drama motion picture either Hacksaw Ridge or Manchester by the Sea will win. Here is the list of all nominations below. http://www.cnn.com/2016/12/12/entertainment/golden-globe-nominations-list-2017/index.html
