Star Wars: The Force Awakens review

The galaxy that once felt so far, far away is, well, not so far away anymore. The new Star Wars movie was an instant classic across the board. It was suited for audiences of all ages, ranging from die-hard Star Wars fans to those that were looking for a fun family outing to the movies. The movie featured the familiar original cast members Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and  Carrie Fisher to name a few and strong performances from the newest generation and soon-to-become icons including John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, and Lupita Nyonogo. The latest Star Wars movie was the perfect sequel to the original trilogy from the 1980s as it incorporated the original cast and introduced a new generation of icons.

The villains in this movie were fantastic; they gave us a bit of the “Dark Side” feel but also a very new and edgy feel that included some dry humor and sarcasm. The main villain Kylo Ren caused a little bit of controversy as his costume closely resembled the famous Darth Vader, but there is a reason for that in the movie; actor Adam Driver perfected the role and really gave us a new feel for our main villain. The scenery in the film was stunning with many real live sets being built and the special effects team using very little CGI, just about what every Star Wars fan could dream of. The ending to this film was brilliant, leading perfectly into the second movie without giving too much away. For the old and the young Star Wars fans, there is nothing better than seeing Han Solo and Chewbacca back up on the big screen together again. I highly recommend this movie to anyone. Even if you are not a fan, go and see this movie. You will not regret it, but I suggest you watch the original movies first.
