Doctor Strange Movie Review

Do you love watching The Avengers? Welcome the newest member of the Avengers, Doctor Strange. I was really excited to see this movie because I always wanted to know who would play a powerful character and how he would connect with the other Marvel films. Well, they did a good job with that. Doctor Strange is about a former neurosurgeon that embarks on a journey of healing only to be drawn into the world of the mystic arts. Benedict Cumberbatch plays Doctor Steven Strange, and he played the perfect part. The first time I saw Benedict Cumberbatch was in War Horse and then I became a fan when he played Khan in Star Trek: Into Darkness. Then we have Chiwetel Ejiofor who plays Mordo. He is best known for playing Solomon Northup in three winning Oscar film 12 Years a Slave. Then we have our supporting actors Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong, Tilda Swinton, and Mads Mikkelson.

What I liked about this movie that was different from other movies is that there are a lot of scenes that are more serious instead of just having a lot of jokes. This movie does have humor but not as much as you would expect from a Marvel movie which I liked. You can’t go too far with the jokes. Another thing I liked was the battle scenes because the sorcerers would change all of the buildings and it would twist; it reminded me a lot of the film Inception when all of the buildings would go upside down or twist. Doctor Strange has, in my opinion, the best battle scenes out of most Marvel films. The plot of Doctor Strange is good; I enjoyed how they would reference the Avengers a couple of times but remain focused on Steven Strange’s story.
I can’t wait until Doctor Strange appears again; he will show up again in Thor: Ragnorak in 2017. In 2018 he will be in Avengers: Infinity War. I wonder what he will do in these upcoming Marvel films. I rate Doctor Strange 9 out of 10 because I felt like the villain could have been more damaging to the other characters. If you are looking for a movie to see over Thanksgiving break, I strongly suggest seeing Doctor Strange.
