McKenzie Feldman Staff Writer Welcome to Stars Hollow! Gilmore Girls fans and coffee addicts rejoiced Wednesday as more than two-hundred coffee shops transformed into Luke’s Diner to celebrate the anticipated revival of the hit series Gilmore Girls. Oct. 5, 2000 is when the show first premiered, and fans from North Carolina all the way to Wyoming got to taste what life in Stars Hollow looked like. Netflix was behind the brilliant transformation. They will be streaming the show’s four episode series revival, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. Those longing all things Gilmore were invited to a free cup of coffee in honor of Lorelai and Rory, the iconic mother-daughter duo from the show. Social media flooded with pictures of all things Luke. Employees and fans dressed in Luke’s signature flannel and hat, posting Luke’s famous “No cell phones” sign all around. Many fans even posted pictures with Luke cutouts and Luke’s coffee cups. Quotes from the show were also printed onto coffee sleeves, adding a nice touch to the atmosphere. Earlier in the year, the revival was announced by Netflix informing us that the entire gang was coming back. Fans can expect to see Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Scott Patterson, Keiko Agena Kelly Bishop, Milo Ventimiglia, Sean Gunn, Matt Czuchry, Liza Weil and Yanic Truesdale. With this revival currently under the spotlight, fans are worried it will not live up to the original. The bar is set high, but fans know that the show will not disappoint. Any chance to see Stars Hollow again is something to look forward to. The show will be filled with the classic wit of writer Amy Sherman-Palladino and her husband Daniel Palladino. Something that will look a little different is the technology. Although the girls will embrace the iPhone, they are still seen reading printed newspapers and chowing down on their favorite Pop-Tarts.
For those who were not able to grab a cup of coffee, have no fear! Lorelai and Rory, as well as the rest of the gang, will return to screens Nov. 25. We cannot wait! Comments are closed.
